Hello, My Name Is
Greetings! I'm Andrea, a freelance photojournalist based in Western Ohio working with art buyers and editors worldwide. 
I picked up my first camera as a toddler. In college, I studied design, took a formal photography course, and learned to love the distinctive atmosphere of the dark room. After several years working in sports management and marketing, I had the opportunity to embark on my own in 2006. Take your time here. Enjoy a few quiet moments in your busy day. Background
My degrees are in marketing, leadership, and English. I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Marietta College and studied with their nationally prominent McDonough Leadership Program. I pursued a career in sports event management at the highest level. Working with the PGA TOUR and minor league baseball, I've coordinated functions for world-class sponsors and vendors including ABC Sports / ESPN, Accenture, American Express, Anheuser-Busch, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Kettering Medical Center Network, MasterCard International, Microsoft XBox, and Shell / True North Energy. I'm happy to bring that effort, experience, and sense of professionalism to each of my projects.

Behind the Scenes
I've lived in Ohio, California, and Florida. I'm slightly addicted to dark chocolate. My studio iPod mix includes everything from Willie Nelson and Norah Jones to Chet Baker and Pearl Jam. As much as I appreciate living in the peace and quiet of the American Midwest, I travel as much as humanly possible and enjoy finding new favorite places.
Subjects
Although I'm proud to wear the badge of "generalist" and have shot virtually everything at some point along the way, I'm most often found on the sidelines of sporting events and concerts. Capturing the passion exhibited by athletes and musicians at the top of their game is always a thrill. On quieter days, I often take to the back roads where I discover new landscapes hiding just around the next corner. I value candid moments in natural, dramatic light and sincerely believe Nick Devlin's comment that "the only great camera is the one that's there with you when the light happens."

Sustainable Practices
With a strong commitment to sustainable living, I incorporate green printing practices as often as possible. My office recycles religiously and reuses many resources including shipping boxes. My goal is not to compete with national chains, big box stores, or agencies with millions of penny-priced images. When you work with me, you're choosing a small, artisan studio in Western Ohio.
